The Autonomic Survivable Distributed Systems (ASDS) group conducts basic research in the area of design, analysis, modeling and evaluation of distributed networked systems. Our current focus is to create innovative technologies to build next generation large-scale computing platforms and to simplify and automate the management of complex IT systems and services. We are a group of researchers with expertise in networking, statistics, modeling, distributed systems, and operating systems. Our group has many ongoing projects, especially in the emerging Cloud Computing area. The topic for the internships include but are not limited to:
The ASDS group strongly believes in publishing our research and advancing the state-of-the-art. We also strive to build technologies that solve real world problems and ultimately help our business needs. For example, we recently transferred our SIAT technology to NEC Japan. Many of our ongoing projects are on their way to be commercialized in the near future. An internship with ASDS group will provide you an opportunity to influence the products NEC builds and gain an insight on what it takes to build real products! The ASDS group seeks highly motivated students pursuing PhD in Computer Science and Computer Engineering to apply for a summer internship. Interested candidates should send their CV and name of one reference writer to internship@nec-labs.com and reference "ASDS" in the subject line and you can visit us at our ASDS website.
