Lee Milburn is an Associate Researcher at NEC Laboratories America, where he works within the Media Analytics team on Robotics and Autonomous Driving. Lee completed his master’s degree in Robotics Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Research Assistant at the GRASP Lab, one of the world’s leading robotics research centers. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and computer science from Northeastern University, where he also served as an Automation Research Engineer developing computer vision and ROS-based systems for autonomous material testing.
Prior to joining NEC, Lee gained broad experience across the robotics and autonomous systems landscape, including research internships in legged robot locomotion at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia‘s Dynamic Legged Systems Lab in Genova, Italy and in algorithm development for multi-target pursuit-evasion at Scientific Systems. Based in San Jose, he works on building perception and autonomy systems that operate reliably in complex, dynamic real-world environments. His research draws on computer vision, deep learning, and sensor fusion to advance intelligent systems capable of robust situational awareness and decision-making.
