Haoyu Wang is a Researcher in the Data Science & System Security Department at NEC Laboratories America.
He received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China, his M.S. in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from Columbia University, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Virginia.
At NEC, he contributes to Agent AI systems for complex system modeling. Dr. Wang develops big-data and reinforcement-learning-based solutions for complex systems, with recent work including a PAIL engine (Performance-based Adversarial Imitation Learning) for carbon-neutral optimization presented at KDD 2024, and a Riemannian geometry–based online change-point detection model (RIO‑CPD) presented at ICML 2024.
