About
Rajnish Gupta is an Associate Researcher at NEC Laboratories America, where he works within the Media Analytics team on Robotics and Embodied AI. Rajnish completed his master’s degree in computational science at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Graduate Research Assistant across multiple labs. At Penn’s X-Lab, he designed high-fidelity physics simulations for autonomous driving and medical imaging using Unity and Unreal, integrated ROS with real-time simulation environments, and developed digital twins for AI-driven urban design. He earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad.
Based in San Jose, Rajnish focuses on building intelligent systems that tightly integrate perception, simulation, and learning to enable reliable real-world autonomy. His work bridges computer vision, physics-based simulation, and machine learning to advance embodied intelligence research, supporting systems that can reason, adapt, and operate effectively in complex physical environments.
