Backscattering is a phenomenon where a portion of a wave’s energy is reflected back in the direction it came from. In wireless communications, backscattering is utilized in techniques like wireless backscatter, where devices modulate the backscattering of existing signals to transmit information. Backscattering is employed in various applications, including RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) systems, where passive tags backscatter signals from readers.
