Calibration is the process of adjusting and fine-tuning the parameters of a device, instrument, or system to ensure its accuracy and precision in measuring or operating. This process involves comparing the measurements or outputs of the device to a known standard and making necessary adjustments to align them with the standard.
A method is proposed in order to improve QoT-E by calibrating the physical model parameters of an optical link post-installation, using only total power monitors integrated into the EDFAs and an OSA at the receiver.
