Concurrent Sensing refers to the simultaneous measurement or detection of multiple signals or phenomena. It involves the use of sensors or sensing technologies that can capture data from different sources concurrently. This approach is often used in various applications, such as multi-sensor systems or sensor networks, where the goal is to gather comprehensive information from the environment in real-time.
We propose an efficient approach for placing distributed fiber optic sensors (DFOS) with concurrent sensing capability. It consumes 5.7% to 9.5% fewer sensors than that using DFOS without concurrent sensing, for covering the same network.
