A Multi-Channel Sensor refers to a type of distributed fiber optic sensor capable of monitoring multiple parameters or channels along the fiber optic cable simultaneously. These sensors can detect various physical conditions such as temperature, strain, or vibrations across different wavelengths or frequency channels within the optical fiber network.
We develop a heuristic solution to effectively optimize the placement of multi-channel distributed fiber optic sensors in mesh optical fiber cable networks. The solution has beenimplemented in a field network to provide continuous monitoring.
