QoT-E (Quality of Transmission Estimator) refers to a tool or system used to predict and assess the signal quality in an optical network. QoT-E helps in determining the likelihood of successful data transmission over optical channels, considering factors like signal degradation, noise, and other impairments. Accurate QoT estimation is essential for optimizing network performance and maintaining reliable communication.
A control architecture for a partially disaggregated optical network is proposed using a GNPy-based digital twin for QoT estimation. The proposed implementation enables soft failure mitigation by autonomously adjusting the amplifier working points.
