Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a technology that converts images of printed or handwritten text into machine readable digital text. OCR systems analyze scanned documents, photographs, or PDFs using image processing and machine learning techniques to detect characters, recognize words, and reconstruct the text in a searchable or editable format. The technology is widely used for document digitization, automated data entry, and information extraction from printed materials.
