Women’s History Month is an annual observance held in March that recognizes and celebrates the contributions, achievements, and historical impact of women in society. Originating in the United States from a local celebration in 1978 and later expanded nationally with support from the National Women’s History Alliance and recognition by the United States Congress, the month highlights women’s roles in fields such as science, politics, education, business, and culture while promoting awareness of gender equality and women’s history.
